GEORGE AND THE LIBRARY

George and The Library is a heartwarming story by local author Jo Eames, celebrating the magic of libraries and the important place they hold in our communities.

Eight-year-old George loves his village library. He knows the librarian, Mrs Bennett, who always has time for a chat, helps him find books and makes every visit special. But when Mrs Bennett is forced to retire, the library begins to change, and George realises that something very precious is being lost. Determined to put things right, George sets out to save the library. A charming story about community, friendship, imagination and standing up for something you believe in.

Originally written as a retirement gift for Deddington's much-loved librarian Rosemary Arnold, the story has now been re-issued in a special edition to celebrate 70 years of Deddington Library.

Published in support of Friends of Deddington Library (Registered Charity No. 1164811), all proceeds from book sales go towards supporting the library and its staff, helping to keep this much-loved village amenity thriving for future generations.
